The Assembly
Reuben Scott // Forgot to Set a Timer
The human condition experiences happiness, sorrow, anger, enlightenment and more in reaction to the internal and external pressures of daily life. Errors in judgement are an essential component of the human condition and it results in major and minor consequences. We as humans often learn and develop from our mistakes. This painting depicts a minor consequence due to a human blunder. It creates bonds between people who share these common experiences and therefore, similar conditions. Because in the end, we all have left food in the oven and forgot to turn it off.
Reuben Scott is an artist from the Okanagan wine country. His works in painting and print contain the subversive humour from the cartooning world. In this world, he looks to extract humour out of the prosaic states of the daily human experience. As a BFA in Visual Arts graduate from UBCO, Reuben is in a continuous search for opportunities to express his artistic vision.
