George Popi // Dizzying Coffee Nap
Dizzying Coffee Nap is an examination of how excesses in consumption becomes a part of us and impacts how we experience the world. The self-portrait sculpture is envolped in ground coffee that had been used for the artists' morning cup. A smaller sculpture, made using whole coffee beans that weigh a double shot of espresso, lies beside the main scuplture.
George Popi is an interdisciplinary artist, and futurist. Since 2016, he has been primarily working on projects involving the human condition, and examining the threads that hold our past and present together, in order to imagine how we can bend the future. George has been calling the Okanagan home since 2020, after spending 6 years in Montreal, and growing up in Ontario.
