The Alternator Media Arts Centre was established in 2002 to provide access to production equipment in order to encourage the growth of an independent media arts community in the B.C. Interior.
The centre supports artists in the research, creation, production and dissemination of work that is innovative in theme, subject, point ofview or esthetic strategy. Artists retain complete creative control of their projects. Since the centre's inception, local and visiting artists have produced over 100 video and audio works at the centre. Other activities include workshops, screenings, visiting artist residencies and commissioning projects.
A full membership ($50/year) is required to access equipment.
An orientation is required prior to use and is available free of charge.
