Judy Jheung

Judy Jheung's  work deals with ephemeral moments of perceptual realm within the context of social/urban movements.  Installations she constructs are often interactive, rendering in a form that propels the audience into a journey linking between past, present and future.  By organizing sensory stimulating environment in public spaces, she instigates situations and exchanges, inviting individuals and groups to participate in collaborative experiences while establishing codes of social dynamic.

Exhibited across Canada and Asia, her on-going project, "Love is in the Air- SkyLink" (2000-present) was selected for the 9th Havana Biennial.   A new-media teleportation portal, "freeLink", was staged at Surrey Art Gallery, Tech Lab, 2006.  In recent years, “Mind of a City”, (2005 – present) a multi-component participatory project has been featured internationally at various Artist-in-Residency programs and exhibitions.  The series of “Isomorphism”, a strategic math-game she developed, has been presented in various forms at site/event specific venues including interactive web art, performance and interactive installations, allowing participants to navigate within the environment for reflection, social conditioning, intellectual pursue and harmony. Chueng's work has been reviewed and profiled in Canadian Art Magazine, The Globe and Mail and recently in Georgia Straight Magazine featuring her portfolio in interactive media installations.
