Brian Gotro

Video is at the core of Gotro’s interdisciplinary practice. His installations and videotapes activate qualities of the ephemeral, comedic, social and political. Turning the camera on himself and his surroundings Gotro engages in both critique and examination.

Gotro has shown his work locally, nationally and internationally: Hong Kong, Russia, Norway, Berlin, New York, Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Kelowna and Vancouver. His videos are distributed by Vtape in Toronto (vtape.org) and Video Out in Vancouver (videoout.ca).

In 2000 Gotro graduated with a BFA from UBC Okanagan. He was born February 20th 1977.
